This photograph was taken towards a window that was full of buddha statues and other related merchandise. The seated buddha in the center of the picture was located behind me. I have been quite surprised by the profound physicality of Thai architecture, particularly the temples and government buildings that are incredibly ornate and decadent. I didn't expect to see the polarised displays of both wealth (the temples) and poverty (many of the people residing around the temples) that is so prevalent in the predominantly Catholic states of South America. This photo was taken at a virtually empty Wat in Bangkok. During our journey to Cambodia that we took a few days after this photo was taken, the scenes of golden temples surrounded by muddy goats and naked children was repeated every few miles along the train line.

Any than can be sold, is sold in Bangkok. (absolutely anything)

Just behind the yellow number plate at the lower end of this photograph is an LPG tank. Tuk Tuk mpg must be fantastic but I doubt any would pass an mot.
