Leaving Saigon

We've trawled the markets today, it's been very interesting. We've also been back 3 times to our favourite place: Tous les Jours (a french style bakery--fantastic). Im still not entirely over my sickness, so I'm trying to be very good to my digestive system.
We were thoroughly ripped off today for the first time: on one of the local cyclos! We got some fantastic photos though. He initially told us it would be 15000VND (about 50p) and we said okay (thinking we would tip a bit as we have everywhere else). Then when the hour was finished and we were dropped off, he changed his mind to 1,500,000VND (50 quid!!!!!) We refused to pay, giving about 20 in the end, and most of it to the second guy who took off with the money! (we think they were actually working together, but the main guy made out that they were working individually- each only takes one person). He was really cross, and I felt slightly bad, but not even an hour in a taxi in central London costs that much! Im sure he makes good money. Its funny because even though I know everyone does their best to make good money out of the tourists, not once have I felt that people were being dishonest- they have told us the price up front and if you choose to pay, its on you, if you haggle thats your choice and if they accept its on them. However, with this I felt a real dishonesty that I didn't like. But that's the world: its not like we have been through a major injustice (although I must admit we felt pretty cross at the time!)
So we are just about to be on our way to the train station to take an overnight sleeper train to the city of Hue. Its a very old place, and we are looking forward to absorbing some history. Our hotel here has been fantastic, even holding our bags for free all day so we didn't have to carry them. So.... we started off travelling light, only one bag each: and have somehow managed to now have three each! Although most of them fit in the big "north face" bag Hugo bought for about 12 pounds today! SO much stuff is made in Vietnam, so I have no problem believing that the stuff we can get here is the same as the stuff you get "genuine" in the shops. Its funny because you can find the same top, a generic vest top (tank top) that is exactly the same, but with 10 different brandings: Abercrombie, Hollister, Christopher and Banks, anything they have it, and with the USD pricetags on, same quality. You can get good prices for most things, if you want designer stuff.
Chao!
