THE holiday
Hoi An riverfront
Shopping in the market
Beautiful little girl
Indoor fruit market
Napping Tailor
Chatting to kids playing, enjoying their summer holiday
Miss Lan- our all around go to woman. She was brilliant. We rented a motorbike from her, bought drinks, chatted and gossipped about the area with her.....
Smallest but strongest masseuse! Wonderful!
Hoi An is known for silk
Darkness falls and out come the geckos
Cycling to the beach
Hotel Number two- Hoi An Garden Villas- a small, 8 room family run ''mini-resort''. We didn't want to leave and will definitely be returning!
Riverside mojitos
I had two pairs of leather shoes made! 15 quid each :)
Our new personal tailor- we will come back to her to have some clothes made in September. She took us out for coffee!
Family who run a beachside restaurant. These are the parents of the cute little girl with stickers all over her face and the boy with her. Very kind.
Now to Da Nang- amazing place. It is a city in appearance but still just a fishing port in reality. It has all the infrastructure, city planning, grid system, brand new roads, amazing bridges and modern places to go, but it doesn't yet have a city feel. I imagine it will really boom in the next few years. It is a beautiful place with the river, the beach, mountains, and lots of fresh air. Although, as you can see, like everywhere in Vietnam, there is no proper rubbish management...
These boats are everywhere on the beach. There are also many boatbuilding yards for the fishing boats.
Hugo's helmet. We rented motorbikes as the roads down there are much safer. Hardly anyone around, and people drive slower...it was really nice.
View of the city from the hotel.
The sunsets were really showing off...
Hat sale frenzy!
common transport load
We drove out into the countryside, towards the mountains. It was absolutely amazingly beautiful. Had it not been so hot we would've gone further. In september we would like to go all the way over the marble mountain pass to Hue, it is a popular route through the national park, meant to be stunning.
Storm threatening over the city...
At the last evening we found a quiet beach...

Dear Lovely People
ReplyDeleteJust want to be on holiday with you. What stands out in the fantastic pictures is colour! So much colour and vibrancy. The indoor fruit market and the house with eyes - loved it all.
Our neighbours the car chap is getting married and going to honeymoon in Veitnam. Gave them your blog to inspire them as to what can be seen.
Love to you both
Sam & Krisia
It is so colourful: everything here is such an assault on the senses!
